Synopsis:

The Udon Thani City Church once served as a recreational space for G.I.s and a childcare center for young children, before later transforming into an orphanage and a place for Evangelical Protestant practice. “if we remember, will god forget?“ weaves together narrated memories of the church from people of multiple generations, ranging from those who lived through the Cold War period to children imagining the future of the place. Chaikitiporn emphasizes giving storytelling a role in provoking reflection on things that do not appear in images or archival materials, keeping these memories from being treated as facts. To opens a space for imagination and quietly questions the networks of thought and social beliefs that have been constructed and normalized over time.
