Chanasorn Chaikitiporn

Chanasorn Chaikitiporn is a filmmaker and moving image artist whose interest lies in exploration and interrogation of socio-political histories of Thailand. His works examine questions on culture, political thought, identity and personal historical memory through the lens of semi-coloniality. In combining fiction film and documentary film genre, he investigates on archival, found footages and declassified documents. Chanasorn is a member of ELSE, a moving image screening series based in Bangkok, Thailand.

 

Chaikitiporn’s works have been shown in film festivals, screening, exhibitions, internationally including Berlinale; Visions du Réel; Uppsala Short Film Festival; Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF); San Diego Asian Film Festival (SDAFF); Festival Film Dokumenter (FFD); Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF); Busan International Video Art Festival (BIVAF); among many other venues. He received “Best Glocal Artist” from 22nd Seoul International ALT Cinema & Media Festival (NeMaf) and “SeaShorts Award (Grand Prize)” from 6th SeaShorts Film Festival.
